What your students do
Your first graders read a short October story with a word bank, then restate the question, answer it, copy the words that prove it, tell why, and sum it up with "So,". Starters like "The story says" and "This shows" sit right on the primary lines.
Why teachers love it
The stories are written at a real October first grade level, every question can be proved from the story, and the teacher key has a model answer for all 30. Start the month with Stage 1 and move students to Stage 2 when they are ready.
