What your students do

Kids build a sentence one step at a time. First they put a Who card with a Doing What card: "The pig digs." Then a partner asks "Where?" and they add a Where card: "The pig digs in the mud." Last, they add a capital and a period and check the whole sentence. Every card has a picture, so even your earliest readers can build and read on their own.

Why teachers love it

Each step has its own teacher note, work mat, recording sheet, and self-check cards, so you can meet each child at the right step and move them up when they are ready. Picture symbols and color coding help pre-readers sort the cards, and the Roll a Sentence game turns silly sentences into a real question: does it make sense?
